Sr. Director, Media Business Development

Sr. Director, Media Business Development

The Sr. Media Business Development Director is primarily responsible for securing revenue from new media accounts within the US and globally. This individual will develop a proactive, “always on” business development strategy; prioritizing and leading new business pursuits accordingly, while creating efficiencies and process improvement along the way. This role will directly manage a small dedicated team of 2 Media BD Strategists and will lead collaborative BD efforts with other cross functional leaders as necessary.

The Sr. Media Director Business Development will have a proven track record of winning business in the digital media arena. Experience should include: development of annual new business forecasts, identification of key accounts and decision makers within those accounts, development of tailored marketing strategy, ability to track and report on progress against plan, successful experience engaging with senior executives, both clients and pitch consultants and creating a culture of success within the agency. Core Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create an “always on” Global pursuit strategy that aligns with the overall business strategy
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the industry to identify new business opportunities, prioritize pursuits, craft sales strategies
  • Close media deals (targeting large scale accounts +$50M)
  • Establish process improvements and efficiencies pertaining to RFI / RFP responses,storytelling, deck development
  • Formalize a BD process integrating media as key component
  • Build solid relationships internally and externally, clients, partners, pitch consultants
  • Inform the development of a differentiated value prop / story for Razorfish media
  • Build a library of selling assets and best practices
  • Cultivate business relationships through networking, industry events and speaking opportunities
  • Report on progress against plan to senior staff and agency-at-large
